Plot: A mysterious new girl arrives in posh suburban neighborhood and quickly sets out to terrorize the town. As she starts breaking into homes and torturing the occupants, they begin to realize that she isn't just another girl next door.
Robert Angelo Masciantonio directs this horror, starring America Olivo as they nutter stalking her prey in the neighbourhood. It starts off well, going straight in to a nasty torture scene involving a tap and some poor blokes chest. Promising. We then meet the three guys who will become the next victims. This is where things get a little pants. The acting of the three main leads is ropey at best. Why the director couldn't see this and slap them around the face I don't know. It's a shame because America Olivo does a really good job playing the seemingly innocent girl / killer. She almost manages to save the movie but everyone else is soooooo bad it just dosen't come off.
That looks sore
Acting aside, the film is more than watchable up to the point where the flashback scenes kick in. At this point I thought "what the frak" is going on. It seems pointless to add these scenes, they do nothing but confuse and distract from the otherwise simple story and almost got me heading for the fast forward button.
The gore is ok. Some close ups of drills in thighs, eyelids with needles in them and fingers falling to the floor. Everything has a slightly cheap feel about it but this is probably due to the budget.
She's behind you!
The worst part of this movie for me was the fact that at a number of times, the main victim could have escaped quite easily. Plus when your faced with a crazy chick holding a machete and you have the chance to smash her face in with a hockey stick, do it. Don't worry that it's a girl. Hit her. Hard.
All in all, it could have been worse, but it could have been a lot better. Shame.
Summary:
Great because:
- America Olivo
- Some nice scenes of torture
Crap because:
- Male Characters can't act
- Some scenes make no sense
- Feels a bit cheap
- One guy could have ended it real quick, he didn't
Hamster Rating: 2
Gore: 3
Scares: 1
