This film was instrumental in igniting my passion for the horror movie. It has everything you could evey wish for in an 80's horror movie.
Plot Summary: Ten teens decide to have a party at an abandoned funeral parlor called Hull House. Hull House is on a strip of land rumored to be unclean and unfit for human inhabitance. The house has a nasty history to it including a the Hull family being murdered. After the ten kids enter the house they decide to have a séance and of course they awaken a demon that lives in the basement. It possesses one of the girls then from her everyone else becomes possessed and killed by demons that inhabit the land.
From the opening scene the pace is break neck. The "teens" in question all look in their late 20's at best but all do their jobs very well. Each death scene is different enough to keep you wanting the next one, and boy they come thick and fast.
You have something on your chin my dear
The scares are genuine at times and the atmosphere is helped by the superb lighting.
The strobe light dance scene is a very rare scene of beauty and chills, not usually seen in a movie of this type.
The cast include the great Linnea Quigley, the original scream queen. Her inclusion also means that the obligatory T&A is here with abundance.
Skid Row
The flim spawn 2 sequels and a recent remake, all of which I will review soon.

Hamster Rating: 5
